National Technical Training was conceived in 2005 and has since developed an outstanding learning environment for the delivery of the entertainment Live Production, Theatre and Events training package. Through significant trials and market research over this time, the company has established the needs of trainers, learners and the workplace both through the concept of flexible learning, workplace support and needs, and available resources. The company has a number of industry professionals that work alongside core members to deliver theses services and has close relationships and ongoing networks with industry professionals from the entertainment sector, associate organisations and business partnerships.

James McAllan - Company Director Establishing himself as an emerging leader converging creative solutions between business, education and industry, a production manager and technician by trade, James holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Technical Production. Currently working as an industry professional he has held the positions of Managing Director of National Crewing Services based on the Gold Coast since 2005 as well as freelancing in production management and technical services both nationally and internationally from 2004. Through his work in the technical area, James has trained many school based trainees in all aspects of production and has an ongoing commitment to the development of training and raising the profile of the entertainment industry within Australia and its neighbours. |

Sharron Cronin - Resource Development Consultant Currently working full time at All Saints Anglican School as an industry professional within the entertainment sector, Sharron has substantial experience both as a technician and trainer. Holding a Master of Teaching Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Mass Communication and Theatre, she has established herself as a significant member of the Australian entertainment industry. Throughout her career she has worked in many roles from stage manager, production manager, theatre manager to lighting design and technician having completed several courses in the technical operations areas including work with NIDA. Sharron has also worked internationally both as a performer and technician and has represented Australia in conferences focused on technical training development within the industry, in Japan and Hong Kong. More recently Sharron has focused her attention on the development of training within the Vocational Education Training sector within Australia, having been recognised for her training development programme within schools on the Gold Coast this year, her Certificate II and III Live Production Programme was as a finalist at the Queensland Training Awards in the Skilling for the future category.

John Taylor - Trainer/Consultant
John Taylor holds a Bachelor of Music (Sonology), Queensland Conservatorium of Music. He is currently Technical Manager for Dracula’s, Gold Coast / Melbourne. Previous to this position John was Head of Audio at Gold Coast Arts Centre and worked for CPC Production Services. As a sound designer, supervisor and operator, his work covered all aspects of live sound reinforcement throughout Australia and abroad. His musical knowledge and background have gained him respect amongst many of Australia’s leading orchestras and musicians, operating concerts in large outdoor venues and concert halls.
Some highlights include: (Sound Design) Buddy -The Buddy Holly Story 2009 Australian Tour (Co-designer/operator) Opera Queensland’s Sweeney Todd, (Supervisor/operator) Essgee Entertainment’s Pirates of Penzance 2001 Australian Tour, (Operator) Marcia Hynes, James Morrison, Rhonda Burchmore, Marina Prior and Tommy Emmanuel to name a few. John has been responsible for several annual events including: Opera in the Park at Ballendean Estate and The Australian Gospel Music Festival, 1999-2007.
